Chapter four
You must be a disciple

A disciple is a learner. That is, to learn, imitate, follow etc one's teaching

Disciples OR several disciples in the Bible
• Disciples of John the baptist
• Moses’ disciples
• Disciples of the Pharisees
• Disciples of Christ
RF: Luke 5:33, John 9:28, 1:35-37, Matthew 28:18-20 (see vs. 19 “teach all nations i.e. make disciples of all the nations (see NKJV)

The importance of being a disciple
• For you to be born of the gospel 1 Corinthians 4:15
• Also to make you fishers of men Matthew 4:18-19
• Also to served with me in the gospel Philippians 2:19-22
• Also to continue and know who you have learned it from or taught you the gospel 2 Timothy 3:14

How to become a disciple?
• You must believe the gospel Mark 1:14-15
To believe the gospel is to believe that Jesus is the Christ or Messiah that is said or written in the scriptures; that he would died for our sins, buried and that he would rose again the third day according to the scriptures Hebrews 10:7, Matthew 5:17, Luke 24:13-27 & 44-46 (see vs. 26-27, 46), 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, 11
• You must also continue in the gospel and also with us John 8:30-31, Colossians 1:23, 1 John 2:18-19

Examples of the US
• Continue in the apostles’ doctrine (i.e. the gospel) Acts 2:41-42, 1 Timothy 1:9-11
• Simon the sorcerer also believed and was baptized. He also continued with Philip and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done but he has no part in the ministry because his heart is not right in the sight of God Acts 8:5-24 (see vs. 13, 21) (NIV)
